From Family Kuttab to Al-Azhar
Born in Kaba Kunda family, Basi Ongari, Upper River Region. He began learning from his father Al-Hajj Musa Kaba and his elder brother Al-Hajj Muhammad Baghori Kaba, before traveling to Cairo where he earned his preparatory, secondary and Licence from the College of Education, Al-Azhar University, graduating in 1992.
Islamic Institute, Tallinding Kunja - 13 Years
Teacher for 13 years, then Deputy Director of Examinations, Deputy Director of Culture, Da'wah and Guidance, and Director of Activities until 2003-2004.
Imam Malik Islamic Institute - Former General Director
Teacher, then General Director of Imam Malik Institute and its branches. Imam and Khateeb of Sinbo Doqati Mosque, with halaqas in many mosques and lectures in villages and rural areas.
Mahmadu Musa Kabba: A Legacy of Discipline, Courage, and Service
Mahmadu Musa Kabba, the former director of the institute, was a pioneering figure in The Gambia.
The Founder of Karate in The Gambia
He introduced the art of self-defense known as Karate to the country and registered it legally, laying the foundation for a national discipline that shaped generations. Under his guidance, countless students trained with dedication including politicians, members of the Gambian Armed Forces, and even the President himself. His impact extended far beyond the dojo, influencing character, discipline, and national pride.
